Lyre: DE progress + roadmap | Future Dryz Demo

Hi everyone! I hope y'all are doing well.

Busy busy busy! I often forget to make posts on here to keep everyone updated. I just don't find it to be the best platform to give news on the project (especially visuals). If you'd like to see more frequent updates for the project, you can follow me on:
Twitter: @SkyePeenut
Bluesky: @atmacinteractive.bsky.social
Or you can join the discord server (link on game page)

I post monthly updates on there, whether it's remastered CGs, or just general talk about the project. All of that along with some spicy art!

Progress for Lyre: DE is going slow and steady, with most of the major illustrations already finished. All but one of the early chapter CGs have been fully remastered to fit with the style and quality of the CGs from the later chapters. Every CG after that will just receive minor edits to polish them up. I wanted to put together a quick roadmap to show just how much needs to be done, to give everyone an idea of how far along I am. Please keep in mind, this is not completely accurate and there are some things that will be worked on as extra tasks.

So the workload:

-Remaster every early chapter CG (Possibly the hardest part. One to go!)

-Polish up the other CGs (I'll show these off in batches. They shouldn't take too long.)

-Touch-up some of the backgrounds (A relatively small task)

-Remake most sprites.
I know that sounds like a lot, but I plan to use a method that I find works best for me. More expressions, a better pose/angle for each character, less poses, simpler shading, etc. This will cut down on workload and make things much easier for me down the road, while still looking good and staying true to the original designs for the characters and emulating how they look in more recent illustrations.

-Polish the writing.
I'm in talks with a dear friend who wants to help with editing the project, along with projects going forward (like Dryz). My goal is to go back over the writing and make improvements where they are needed. (This shouldn't take too much time.)

-Add extra music tracks.
I know the OST is already pretty strong, but one thing I wish to do is add more ambient tracks. There are plenty of character themes and tracks used for certain scenes, but I have very little ambient themes to work with.

-Improve the code (mainly sprite transitions).

Other than that, everything else that needs to be done is little tasks here and there.

Now, on to Dryz, as I'm sure I've piqued everyone's interest with the title.

My original plan was to finish Lyre: DE and then start work on Dryz, ensuring a quick release with now gap in between Lyre: DE being finished and Dryz releasing its first build.

My new plan (which I would like to stick to), is to release a small Demo for Dryz somewhere in-between the development of Lyre: DE (preferably when I have certain remade assets ready to be used in the Demo). It would be a short prologue to the story, showing off a certain scene I've been excited to put out for a very long time. It wouldn't be the length of a full chapter, but I feel it would be enough to get most of you hooked on what's to come. This demo will require some new assets to be made, along with the ones I'm already working on for Lyre's definitive edition, so I once again as for your patience.

Dryz is probably my most ambitious project to date. The amount of assets needed will be beyond what I'm used to. I'm going to execute my vision to the best of my abilities.

One more thing to those of you who have ordered the Lyall plush. I again want to apologize for the delay. It's out of my hands at the moment and Pawprint has been working tirelessly to deliver on their plush pre-order batches, with Remember the Flowers' Axel plush already delivered. Lyall was the fourth batch of pre-orders, so his will take time. After the factory situation was sorted out, the current tariff situation threw a wrench into things right after. It's an unfortunate situation. There are plans to release more merch for Lyre outside of the plushies, so stay tuned for that.

That's all I have to say at the moment. Everything that's been worked on so far is available on my Patreon or on Twitter/Bsky, with plenty more to come. I'll continue to update on those platforms, while trying to make a blog post here whenever I remember. Thank you for all your support and interest in the project.
